Sub Phatty with VST now no longer needs DIN and USB on Win?

My Sub Phatty is connected via DIN MIDI, and up until last week the VST editor was set to USB MIDI, due to the Windows issue of not being able to share MIDI ports.

However, I noticed last week that my Sub Phatty VST editor was no longer working when set to USB MIDI, so I tried changing it to DIN MIDI, and it worked! I didn’t expect it to since the Sub Phatty is connected via the same MIDI ports, so they are sharing the ports.

Was there a change in the latest Sub Phatty firmware/software that made this possible?

Either way, it’s great as it means I have more free ports for other gear.
