Strange tuning problem

Hi,

Last week I received my RME V3.2. First day it worked fine and all was fun, but the next the day the third oscillator was out of tune :frowning:

On key C3 it is in tune with osc 1 and 2, but as the key that is played is higher, the oscillator gradually detunes. I have to manually tune it higher to be in tune again. The same when I play a lower key than C3, but then I have to manually tune it lower. The higher (and lower) I play, the more detuned it gets. I already checked that ‘3 KB Control’ is on. Oscillator 1 and 2 are stable and don’t have this problem.

Sometimes the problem disappears after a while, but then it comes back again. I already reinstalled V3.2 and installed V3.1, but this didn’t help. Is it a hardware failure, or has it to do with the room temperature, or maybe software related?

Thanks for helping!

Laurens

Hello Laurens,

I don’t think that the problems concerning the tuning of the third oscillator of your Voyager RME are due to changes in the temperature. I had the same kind of problem with oscillator 3 (performer edition) and it was caused by a bad capacitator. So there was no relation with the software or the temperature, it was hardware related.

I think you should contact your dealer or distributor.

Thanks for the reply dth. I’ll contact my dealer as soon as possible.

Allright, don’t hesitate to call upon your dealer. It took me some time to realise and accept that the even the Moog-firm makes mistakes (using a faulty batch of capacitators)…
