I have a Little Phatty Stage II and was upgrading to OS 3.1 last weekend. The update process went fine but after i restarted the phatty and played for a while (also twisting knobs) it has modified some parameters by itself and my patch was gone. I thought it was nothing serious. Today i did play again and the same thing happened: it sets some parameters randomly during playing from one moment to another. I really think that this is related to the OS upgrade.
I would really ask for a solution because this is very annoying.
Does it still occur with nothing but the essentials connected. No midi in or out, no effects, and have the amp and LP plugged into the same outlet? Is the outlet grounded?
I don’t know what sets this situation up, but I do know what triggers those symptoms:
It has to do with other devices being plugged into the audio path of the Little Phatty
and how their ground is wired.
Example: If I put a Boss or HardWire guitar pedal (using their AC wall wart) after the
Phatty, I get knob crawl.
The same thing happens when I’m plugged into my JamHub.
If I remove these from the audio path, the problem disappears.
Some other pedals work fine. I don’t remember this ever happening in the past. It seems
like I started noticing it about a half year ago. I can’t possibly imagine this happening and
me not noticing it; it’s pretty obvious.
So, I have to assume, as you suggest, that an OS update at some point is at least partially at fault.
The little Phatty is connected with an audio card, the IN and the OUT. Also all midi connectors and the usb plug is connected. I will give it a try to remove cables but i never had problems before i updated to the new OS
