[SSQCV] Subsequent 37 CV firmware 1.3.1rc1 is ready to test!

Attached is a new firmware for Subsequent 37 CV, version 1.3.1rc1.

Note that this version should NOT be used with either Subsequent 37 or Sub 37, but only Subsequent 37 CV.

Firmware fixes in this version:

Fixed: Send all presets sysex output was corrupt
Fixed: Keyboard Priority (low/high/last) did not work
Fixed: CV output range 0V to +5V had a negative offset

Thanks for your cooperation.

Hi Gil,

We will receive the Subsequent 37 in aproximately two weeks, however there is a Sub 37 at our workshop right now. Will this firmware be used for both? Or is this only for the CV outs edition?

I do want to help testing it!

Hello Bicho!

This is great. You can install this firmware in Sub 37 too, and it should work normally (except for not supporting the CV/Gate Out features, obviously). Reverting to official 1.2.0 is easy too - just run the updater.

Hello Gill Thank you for this very nice news !

I have the firmware installed on my Sub 37 and it works!

Thanks.

Indeed, it should work normally in a Sub 37. So main thing to look for are potential regression issues.

I was able to install it and try it briefly yesterday at our showroom.

The note priority bug seems to be gone, hopefully we will be able to this feature thoroughly and test the send all sysex as well during the week.

Installed this new firmware on my SSQ37 the other day and will be using it this week. Any preference on what to look out for or things to try with it to help test?

Thanks!

Mikey G

Updated my SSQ37CV - no problems so far

R.

Thanks, let us know if you come across anything unusual.

That would be great!

It would mostly help if you verify the 3 bug fixes, and look for general regression issues.

Thanks all !

Firmware update went fine, thanks! Is anyone else experiencing that the editor doesnt sync presets correctly to the moog?

What is the exact problem? Can you provide a step-based scenario?

Thanks

I connect the moog ss37cv via usb to my mac, already deleted preferences and sub37 folder a few times etc.

I open up the editor, what works fine now but as soon i switch a preset on the moog (or on the editor) it shows the wrong preset - except the presets i build myself.

I always have to push “capture hardware” on the editor to get the same preset like on the moog. As soon i change the preset on the moog, the editor switchtes preset too but to another one then on the moog (and vice versa).

Hi tbsstudio,
It looks like you need to perform GET (from Librarian page) to sync editor and HW together.
Salvator

We’ve tested these two as much as we could and found them working fine on our Sub 37

We don’t think however, we will have a Subsequent 37 CV Outs to test but a Subsequent 37 instead…

Thanks for the effort. Much appreciated!

I uploaded the firmware to my Sub 37 and the editor to PC (Windows 10). The editor worked well with the Sub 37, but when I turned the Sub 37 on again that evening the front panel had froze, I navigated to GLOBAL > LOCAL CONTROL and found that all the settings were at Off, so turned them all back on again, this has happened a couple of times. Also when I used my DAW (Sonar X Platinum) I was unable to find the Sub 37 as a Midi instrument. I could insert the SSQ editor as an instrument but was unable to communicate to the Sub 37. I have reverted back to 1.2 and all is well.

Thanks for this important feedback, will report!

Hello Mickleman,

On the same issue, well, Sub 37 should really only use its own firmware (which is at the moment, v1.2.0). If it’s freezing using CV firmware 1.3.1, that would actually be possible, as 1.3.1 is only intended for SSQCV… So as long as 1.3.1 doesn’t freeze SSQCV, and 1.2.0 doesn’t freeze S37, we’re ok
