[SSQCV] Sequencer/Arp question

Hi. I recently bought a Subsequent 37 CV which is really nice but i have one question related to the sequencer/arp and EG`s:

Is it possible to use the sequencer/arp and envelope generators seperate (individually) via gate/cv out`s from the sound-engine of the moog?

I want to sequence some modules of my modular with the moog sequencer and sequence the moog oscs, filters and EGs with the sequencer/modules of my modular at the same time.. can this be done in realtime?

Hi,

Amos says “No, the CV outputs come from the sound engine, so it’s not possible to de-couple them”.

Ok, thanks for the info!

Btw. i just noted an issue when i select various presets in the Editor-Plugin, the moog loads another preset, not the selected one.
I will try to save presets via Editor later and see if it loads (at Moog-Preset menu and the editor).

Thanks.

To really be able to target a bug, we need a step-based scenario which reproduces the issue.

Also, please try deleting your Sub 37 preferences folder (not before you backup all your user presets!), then reload the Editor and click GET. See if it still happens.

As Gil relayed, the CV outputs are generated by the sound engine, so it’s not possible to un-couple them in the sense I think you mean (have an envelope firing out the CV output that isn’t also affecting the sound engine).

You can set a CV output source to SEQ MOD to send a sequenced modulation value out of a CV output that isn’t necessarily doing anything to the synth sound. especially if you enable SEQ MOD ONLY in the Sequencer options (hold PRESET button to get to the menu with per-preset options for sequencer and CV outputs etc.). You could also use the filter envelope CV output while the synth’s filter EG AMOUNT is set to zero, and then use a modular EG applied to the filter CV input instead… there are a lot of options.

reminder: mod values are programmed per step of the sequencer using the Mod Wheel while recording a sequence. Or you can set them graphically in the editor.

"You could also use the filter envelope CV output while the synth’s filter EG AMOUNT is set to zero, and then use a modular EG " yes i tried this already and it works fine.

Does the preset INIT really initialize everything / nothing is routed, sequencer / mod sources & destinations?

“You can set a CV output source to SEQ MOD to send a sequenced modulation value out of a CV output that isn’t necessarily doing anything to the synth sound.” Thanks, i will try this too, exactly what i mean! Its also one reason i will use the editor.

Thanks for that tip - I was having the same problem so deleted the preference folder and restarted the application. It still had a Hardware Disconnected message but clicking on Capture Hardware brought it all back.
