as I read in the recent mail, we Sub 37 owners are also invited to test the latest Subsequent 37 Editor.
I just tried it out and recorded some knobs on the front panel. The movements are recorded and played back
correctly with the Sub 37 Editor, however with the Subsequent 37 Editor most of the movements are ignored.
Are we supposed to install the latest Subsequent 37 Firmware on the Sub 37 to test this?
I’m a bit careful regarding this. Are there any benefits?
I’m using Reaper 5.62, Windows 8.1 Pro x64 and a classic Sub 37!
With the Sub 37 Editor it happens, that the parameters aren’t cought immediately, as well, BUT turning the cutoff knob on the Sub 37 catches the values again (I only automated cutoff in the example)
This workaround does not work in the Subsequent 37 Editor, though. Values aren’t caught at all.
The project file is attached, I will also record a video.
I do notice that you’re editors aren’t set to the Sub 37 midi USB drivers, and they really should.
Do you have it installed at all?
Please install v4.35.0 if this is Windows 8 or 10 that you are using, or v2.23.0 if it’s Windows 7. Then restart, let Windows detect the new drivers, and on the editors, select the “Sub 37” driver as In and Out. Then please check this again and let me know if the issue persists…
that’s right, my Sub 37 is not connected via USB, because my cable is too short and the PC too far away. Therefore I haven’t installed
the drivers. Is the USB driver needed anyway, even when connected via standard MIDI cables?
The Editors should really connect to the hardware via USB. While they may still work using DIN, it’s not supported and whatever doesn’t work isn’t really considered a “bug”.
