I recently acquired a Source. It works great and therefore sounds great. My issue is with cv control. I would assume it should respond normally to kb track settings when triggered from an external controller. When using it through my Kenton box, mine does not. I assume it should just from experience with my Rogue.
It also seems to be having an issue with env retrigger. With the Kenton set for multi-trig(and newest note ), it retriggers more like random single-trig, very sloppy. It doesn’t trigger out of time, it just doesn’t retrigger every note. It’s rock solid on the Rogue. My Source is an early one with a single S-trig jack. I’ve switched cables with Rogue and it’s the same thing. Rogue yes, Source no. Pitch is not an issue and note on/off is always accurate. The cv in seems to be fine. It seems to be the S-trig. Maybe more than just the jack, itself?
I just wanted to confirm that this was abnormal behavior and kb track should work through cv. All is rock solid when playing from the keyboard. Everything works on the control panel(kb track, envs, filter,…). Responds perfectly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Almost forgot. This may play a factor. There is some half done midi retrofit on this thing. There is a midi in jack and a switch. I haven’t opened it up. It doesn’t seem to be the Encore or the old Kenton retrofit. I haven’t touched it and have no plans to use it. Previous owner said it was unstable. If I can remove it I will. I prefer cv. The only other thing that I am unsure about is whether hitting Lev2->Ext Trig does… anything. The keys always are playable. No bypass like I’m used to when using cv.
