hello,
I’m desperately searching for two 10kohm rotary pot’s linear with switch to repair my moog sonic iv. has anyone found suitable fitting replacements, have a dead sonic iv etc? This thing has been dead now because of this nearing 5 years. I’m hoping to get in contact with someone who can help me. I’ve talked to so many repair tech’s without an answer, some like K. Lightner have been great, sincere and enlightening, others have been down right cruel (a certain ohio tech/dealer who had the parts but refused to sell me the parts unless I sent him my synth for ATLEAST five or more hours of bench time).Needless to say, I won’t be giving him my money for a vintage moog, arp or roland till hell freezes over..
so please, if you can help me send me an email NicholasFaith@gmail.com. I’ve been through the heart ache of my mini-d being stolen(first synth I played/owned when they were $200 or less), which is now going to be a very long road to owning due to current prices. please help me fix my old friend.
sincerely,
Nicholas

Would this do?
These douche bags need to be shot. There was a bastard who woudln’t sell me a two dollar trumpet valve for my trumpet without trying to rape me out of 50-100 dollars for his bench time.
the shaft is longer, it mounts to the circuit board then comes through the panel. these custom parts used with “moog part #” drive me crazy! another tech has the old pot,if I casn get it back (it’s been well over a year) I can get it rebuilt by kevin lightner. not cheap by any means, but atleast it’ll work, and anyone who knows him knows his work is top quality. I’m just hoping to find someone who has these parts either nos, or from a dead sonic 6. that’ll atleast cut down on cost, plus if I can’t get the pot back I’m screwed.

Tell me about me about it! sad thing, this guy is a really well know dealer/tech. He is in one of the big “vintage synth” books talking about buying, repairing synth’s, and finding parts! If he was blowing out used mini’s for $200, I would go to the guy at a much higher cost. his tack didn’t work, I didn’t send my synth to him for repair, and I won’t ever buy anything from him.I’ll go to the guy who tried to help me even though he didn’t stand to make much money from me.The tech who had my pot for over a year? Depending on how he is about sending the part back,He tried,if he is honest about it in the end he will have my business in the future when I buy a vintage piece.
also, if anyone has these sonic 6 parts I will do my best to compensate well over the price of typical pot prices.(within reason, don’t get silly)
Are you doing a restoration for collector purposes, or just trying to get it running? If the latter, why not just get a couple of pots, mount them to the panel, and then wire them back to the PC board(s)?
Less hassle and money… just a thought.
Sonic IV ??? You mean Sonic VI ?
Or is there a Sonic 4? I have seen a Sonic V, tried to buy it, Already sold ![]()
