I am very much at the point of giving up after spending all day just trying to simply get this thing working with Ableton.
I have looked through hundreds of forum posts trying to find the answer to my problem and have found nothing.
Where i’m at - I must be doing something drastically wrong but i have no idea. this is my first synth.
I had it working by usb and live instrument plugin but i wanted to edit the effects/CC’s or whatever they are.
I have the sp connected via usb to my pc and have followed the intructions (100 times) to setup MIDI-OX and LoopBe1

I have turned all the stuff off in ableton preferences so none of that is currently on.
Changed the port on the SP to channel 8.
After plugging in my MIDI cable from the SP to my audio interface i can move the dials on the SP and the VST does the same! yay! makes no sense tho.
I have no sounds when using my MIDI keyboard or the piano roll or anywhere to do with the synth…
and i can cant see my patches or anything in the VST.
It appears no midi is being sent to the synth or editor.

A good place to start is getting the simple approach working.
Just get the SP working USB for now.
In the SP Midi Setup menu, make sure it’s set too, “Midi In:USB”
Set the Midi Channel, for example 8.
In Ableton set your midi preferences
Output: Slim Phatty, check Track (which basically gets you notes playing), dont worry about checking Remote yet, however ‘Remote’ allows Ableton to send parameter changes (knob turns)
Input: Slim Phatty, leave all unchecked for now because you simply want to get Ableton triggering the SP notes for now.
Now create a midi track in Ableton.
In the Midi To menu, select the Slim Phatty, and channel 8
This is the simplest way to get Ableton sending notes to the Slim Phatty.
So make a midi clip and see if thats working.
Understand one step at a time, then move forward.

I can have it working basically with the live instrument plugin. Cannot edit custom parameters tho only input gain. So i bought the plugin.

I can turn knobs and stuff and fine, doesnt load patches but i can live with that at this point.. i just want to edit parameters on my tracks of the moog.
As soon as i play the SP with the live instrument plugin the vst no longer lets me turn knobs and freezes. can still play the moog tho. That is my main problem.
I feel like i have not set it up correctly.
Bump - Can anyone please shed some light. All i want to do is use the VST Plugin in ableton…
