I thought you could save the Octave setting independently with each preset. However, for some reason I cant seem to do this, it always defaults back to the ‘middle’ setting (no LEDs lit).
Other presets do have different OCT settings though, so it seems this CAN be done. I cant figure out why this wont save. Ive looked through the forums and the globals on the LP to no avail…thanks
I just tested it and it works on mine (LPS2 OS V3.1 672/32). Maybe try what I did. After saving a preset, go back and only adjust the octave to the desired position, then save it again. It should work. Make sure you have the latest OS. Otherwise contact Tech Support.
Also, after you hit “store” are you changing the overwrite from “no” to “yes”? Hitting the “cursor” button to move it to “no” then turn “value” knob to change to “yes”. Not trying to be a jerk, but sometimes its the simple things that are looked passed.
I think this is one of the places the slim and the LP differ. The octave up/down is to transpose the keyboard. Since the slim is relying on an external keyboard, it is always saved at the center position. Where on the LPs, it is saved so the 37 keys can be extended.
I noticed the latest OS update was build 672 from your post. I had already succesfully loaded mine with 3.1 v671.
So I thought I would just upgrade from 671 to 672 and see if that made a difference.
I downloaded the update, and followed the instructions. My LP took the update, as verified in the Sysex menu, unfortunately however it erased ALL of the presets and they are now showing “CALIBRATION”. None of them make any sound and the Pots and buttons have little or no response !!! ARRGGGGHHHH
NOTE: I powered on/off the unit a few times and now it shows the name of my 1st preset FOR EVERY PRESET but everything is still locked up / no sound, no response:(
I noticed in the MASTER menu there is something called “PERFORM SET: 1 1” underneath that it still shows the names of all of my presets but I cannot seem to activate any of them or get any sound from the LP at this point. Before I go ahead with a “factory restore” let me know if anyone knows how I could possibly save my presets if there may be anything left of them.
