Reissue Osc 3 tuning

Hi,

Just took delivery of my reissue model D

I noticed a couple of things about OSC 3 and wondered if these are “normal”?

  1. When OSC 3’s tuning knob is at the centre “0” position, it is a major third above Osc 1 tuning, or Osc 2 at centre. At full clockwise it’s an octave higher, and and full counter clockwise its a fifth lower. Is this intended? It would seem to me it should be calibrated the same as Osc 2. It is convenient though as I can quickly dial in 5ths octaves at each end of the range.

  2. The Osc Range for Osc 3 is an octave lower than the equivalent range on Osc 1 and 2 - this seems correct as the LO setting produces an appropriately slow waveform

hmmmm… if I set all VCOs 1,2 and 3 to 8’ and VCOs 2 and 3 to zero offset they are all in tune.

The patch on page 41 of the manual (3-square lead) works for me as intended.

Hi - took it back to the shop and picked up the other one that was there - obviously this is just a poorly calibrated one out of the factory.
Would have done the calibration myself, but there was a brand new replacement to take instead, so I went with that.

Cheers!

There seems to be a problem with the final inspection. The error with the multtrigger mode was not discovered at my instrument (and also at some others). I find this in this price class very unfortunate.

you didn’t mention the position of the Oscillator 3 Control switch

this switch must be in the ‘up’ position so Osc 3 will track correctly and not have an offset

yeah it was not the switch - it was simply calibrated incorrectly out of the factory - the replacement is fine

Good that one was in stock. Then it can now go undisturbed! I wish you a lot of fun!
