Heya- Working on my Old School- I’m trying to dial in a trick I use to intro my band’s song- I figured it out on my Little Phatty, saved it, then of course forgot how to do it- It’s song 4, “Chubasco”- you can hear the filter sweep on the sample listen: http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=sr_nr_i_0?rh=k%3Athe+noseriders%2Ci%3Adigital-music&keywords=the+noseriders&ie=UTF8&qid=1318550588 I know I could just manually do it by grabbing the filter, but I’m playing guitar on this song as well, so it has to trigger and release on its own (I tap a key with my headstock)
Please help!
OK I get it - WAY too complicated for you newbies ![]()
Show’s tomorrow- I’ll just hold down the key for now…
Amazon won’t play the file but…Make sure you have the rlease turned on in the left hand controler, set you relase times for filter and Volume, play with the setting of attack, decay and sustain for both Filter and Volume.
have fun…
You can get a footswitch to trigger gates, or you can run your guitar to a freqbox/101, totally dry mix and utilize the envelope follower to possibly trigger gates.
You can get a moog FS1 or get the synthesizers.com footswitch for a little cheaper I think. I didn’t listen to the file but I think i might have an idea of what you are trying to achieve based on your description.
Are you talking about that pitch up 20 or so seconds into the track? Take said sound and apply the attack portion of the envelope to OSC pitch, Filter or both. Long attack Decay is not important. Sustain all the way up and release off. Hold note and it will pitch up to heaven at the rate of your attack. Just re read it
You want to tap a key and let it rip.
Attack to 0, decay to 0 Sustain all the way up and use release to modulate the sound. (inverted) Make sure the AMP release is longer so the sound doesn’t fade out before it finishes it’s pitch up.
And it is so rare that I program the V’ger since I’ve built the modular I decided to go try it. Had to use the VX for the FILTER ENV out to an inverting attenuator on the CP-251 and that back into the PITCH of the V’ger to do it quickly. Use the Sustain to set the starting pitch and adjust the releases for the ramp and fade. Works pretty good for just using the 'Basic Patch" as the sound source. There is probably a way to do what I did in the menus and pot mapping. I just didn’t want to spend that much time on it. Sorry, but I would shoot for my modular and a foot switch to do this normally.
thanks all!
