I just placed an order for a Sub 37. I’ve never had a Moog product before, so I don’t know if buying an Extended Warranty is a wise investment and if their Warranty service is well regarded.
For people who’ve had experience servicing their gear through Moog, was the service good–ease of getting proper coverage, swiftness of repair, etc.–and meaningfully better than servicing it through a third party?
With some companies (Apple), the quality of coverage is known to be so exceptional that I get the extended warranty for every high value purchase, even though I’ve yet to avail of the warranty because MacBooks are so reliable. I’m unfamiliar with the reputation of Moog reliability, so some insight would be great.
Thank you.
Moog service in general is top notch.
Moog Music’s service department is second to none, managed by passionate knowledgeable people that often go beyond the call of duty to satisfy their customers.
Moog service is great. The service staff is above outstanding and will go out of their way for any problems, hardware or software.
If you have a problem you cant just walk into a store and get a replacement like an Apple Store (maybe if you live in Asheville).
Pass on an extended warranty if its from your local store. Moog is well built.
Their service is good, but remember they are a small company, so turnaround can be slow from time to time.
Thanks for the perspectives so far.
What kind of time range has it been for you?
Good ? No,… it was outstanding !
I’ve never had a single problem with any of my Moog gear, and that includes the Voyager RME, Little Phatty, Minitaur, and 7 moogerfoogers. Moog service did a Little Phatty Stage 1 upgrade to Stage II with the CV kit for me and did a great job on that as well.
I took a tour of the Moog factory when I dropped off my LP for the upgrade and was really impressed and pleased with the atmosphere of the place and the employees I met.
repair lead times are 1-2 weeks now
That’s not too bad. Thanks for the info.
They have good communication but sometimes get a little busy.
This is why I always buy my Moog gear from Sweetwater. 2 years of warranty instead of 1. And the customer service at sweetwater is second to none. Well, maybe tied with Moog. Wink.
