Prodigy ...S trig ?

Doing some quick research on the Prodigy…

Main query is the keyboard controller..does it work via S trig or V trig ?
also is conversion to cv/midi straight forward via Kenton etc for
DIY …I have a fair amount of experience. …?

Also is there a euro clone of the prodigy ?

If the Prodigy got factory built in CV and Gate input sockets, it is S trigger and labeled with S trigger.
The first Prodigy revision where without CV and Gate connections. If these where later often retrofitted. And most likely the the more common V trigger. But you could also add S trigger. See the official (?) description scanned here:

The Prodigy schematics are available online at several sources. Like: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1000380/Moog-Prodigy-336bx.html#manual

I think you are looking to control the Prodigy via MIDI. So MIDI to CV.

Many many thanks for super photos and reply …this is SO helpful !

Can you tell me what the board at the upper left of the keyboard is ?
I know that’s where the output is etc but it looks like there’s components
it’s hard to see. . Is it the Midi CV processor ?
I believe that the main board is the only board in the Prodigy apart from power supply and keyboard but now I’m wondering ?
Have you any further info what this board does ?

Regards

These two boards are:

  • left: Doepfer CTM64 for MIDI-Out (this is why there are so many ribbon cables from the key contacts to the logic board)
  • right: Doepfer MCV4 for MIDI-In

The unmodified Prodigy is just the main PCB with all the knobs and the PSU and the left hand section.

Again, many thanks Till…I can make sense of it all now
