problem with voyager rme --> no sound!

hi,

A couple of days ago i bought a second hand voyager rme, i’ve tested the unit and it was ok. after i took it into my studio i used it for two days more without problems. but yesterday when i powered up the moog everything looks fine but the moog doesn’t make any sound at all.

i’ve tried a lot of things:
-do a factory reset
-import the os again (2,6)
-tried allmost any parameter in the menu’s

but nothing seems to work.

so i’m starting to thinking more and more that the moog is really broken.

is there anybody else with an idea

(someone told me to first erase the os and then import a new one, can anybody tell me how i erase the os?)

Hi Matthias,
can you hear a sound when you switch the ENVELOPE GATE to the KEYBD. position and then to the EXT./ON position?

no i hear nothing

only when i powered up the moog i hear a little ‘plop’ sound

I guess also the headphone output is dead…?

yes headphone output is also dead.

What about using the mix out / filter in jack, can you hear the oscillators when you plug into this jack?

yes i hear a soft fm-like sound
when i put a signal in the external audio in, that signal is ok

You say that when you plug a signal into the External Audio input, you can hear it coming OK from the RME main audio output?


If so, tell me this: Do you hear this sound all the time or is it gated by Notes On/Off (i.e. if env gate switch is set to Keyb. do you still hear the external audio coming out even if you are not playing keys)?
