Problem w. accesing files from my iphone w. filtatron

Hi everybody,

I’m having the hardest time to acces the filtatron app so i can upload en download files to it. Hope anybody can provide me with some help because i’ve been searching the forum/the internet which hasn’t been very helpfull. Here are some specifics: The app is running on my iphone which is a iphone 3GS with the latest drivers. My laptop is running vista. I tried typing in the ftp url directry with the app in ‘tranfer mode’ but that doesn’t work. Also filezilla and smartftp cant seem to get the job done. What is strange however is when i have my iphone connected through usb and put it in transfer mode is says ‘FTP server error! You don’t seem to be connected to a network, please check your network settings and try again’. This message seems to sugget that filtatron isn’t picking up that my iphone is connected to my laptop. I have looked at the network settings of my iphone but everything seems to be set alright there. Tonight i will try the ‘file transfer’ on another pc running XP and will report back if this made any difference but till then: Has anybody else had this problem or something similair and if so, how did you fix it?

Thanks in advance for the information!

Well i tried it o a couple of different computers but still no luck…

My guess is that you downloaded Filezilla’s server application and not the client application.

I haven’t been able to get it to work either. I’ve used ftp for years, just not with my iPod, and I’ve tried other apps using ftp and they don’t connect either. I’ve made sure filezilla is client side, winscp, the browser…I’m suspecting this is a system issue, like a specific service isn’t on in XP? I still use SP3 32bit. I turned on every Service pertaining to networks and internet but to no avail. I have no problem connecting via http, like with iSequence for example.

Any other ideas?

Also, do you guys plan on using another method for export? What if I just wanted to paste the sample to another app, like Sonoma?

I am having the very same problem. I’ve no idea why you can’t just export wav files via usb into itunes like you can with imaschine, nanoloop etc. It’s pretty frustrating to be honest that there’s no other option to transfer files other that FTP. Madness.

Strangely, I was able to access via ftp last night. I tried it with the browser and it worked, so I tried it with Filezilla and it worked, so I was able to delete the sounds I didn’t need on there. Now, it’s back to the usual no connection issue. I’ve tried pasting samples into another app, but they all crash. This is a pain in the ass!

Is there any chance of an update with the ability to simply transfer wavs to itunes? That would be pretty sweet.

I too use xp service pack 3. Do you think that could be it?

My experience of ftp on filtatron on iPad:

Wasn’t able to get ftp working at all using my trusty old ftp client (WS-FTP) or the command line (yes the command line works for most things!). the ftp clients just couldn’t see the server.

To my understanding, ftp protocol is just ftp protocol, the client really shouldn’t matter. I though there must be something weird goin on with my wifi network or WIn 7 being over zealous.

However, as a last-ditch attempt, I downloaded Filezilla, and it just worked perfect. I can now delete files! hooray!

The moral of this story is that not all ftp clientsa are created equal…
