I have had a Sub37 for a little over a month and it’s operated very well and free from any noticeable bugs until today.
As of today though, it seems that I am unable to access the upper 8 banks… whenever I scroll past bank 8 using the cursor buttons it just skips back to bank 1 instead of showing me 9 thru 16. Using the front panel bank/patch buttons 1-8 function as normal but 9-16 have no effect. After shutting the synth off for ~10 minutes I have full access for a while but then the screen freezes (the synth can continue to be played or play back sequences from MIDI), after which I am again locked out of the upper banks.
Should I open a ticket with tech support for this or have others encountered a similar issue? I tried to search if this was known bug but I didn’t see anything in the forum and a google search also came up empty. Apologies if this has been covered in another thread.
Yes, there are MIDI in and out connections when this happens. I suppose a grounding issue could be at play… a while back I had to return a Strymon TimeLine pedal because it kept crashing whenever I had the MIDI In connected. That said, none of my other gear has any issue and the Sub37 has worked flawlessly until yesterday… presumably a ground issue would have cropped up right away (like with the Strymon)?
I will experiment tonight using it for a few hours without the MIDI cables plugged in and see if that makes a difference.
I kinda want to hold out for the new firmware that’s supposed to be coming with all the sequencer upgrades instead of going through the hassle now and then again in a couple weeks. I’m already on 1.06. But I guess if this issue continues I may be forced to try (all my patches are in the upper 8 banks!)
