Preset Changing When Pressing Play

Is there any reason why the preset would change when pressing play in Ableton? I don’t have any automation changing it.

I have a preset selected in the editor, and after pressing play it changes to “The L Train” preset. So I started a new project to see if i could reproduce it. It now changes to the preset “No Resonance Required”.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. New project

  2. Load MIDI file into Ableton project. Say “Yes” import time data
    (MIDI file provided here) http://www49.zippyshare.com/v/JCr3gUhr/file.html

  3. Setup External Instrument on the bass track or guitar track. Add Sub 37 editor. (2.1 IN PORTS: USB. 2.2 OUT PORTS: OFF)

  4. Select a preset in the editor, Press play

  5. The preset should now change by itself.

Dose the midi file have program change data in it.

Check for any automation program change inside the midi file

I have followed the scenario and couldn’t reproduce this.

Will you be able to send/attach the following:

  1. Ableton project
  2. Sysex Bulk Dump as done from the synth firmware ?

Yes, it does. The reason why I did not see it at first is because I was looking in the automation drop down menu on the track itself. (switched to ableton recently)

After switching the program change to “none” in the actual midi clip, it did not change any preset.
