I read a rumor about an Old School knobbed out phatty.
Any predictions what the new year might hold in terms of the moog product line?
Maybe more midified foogers. 101M seems likely.

I heard a rumor from the Great Pumpkin about a 64 voice all analog polyphonic modular.
Seems redundant in my opinion, if you could afford a Phatty with knobs you could get something Voyager class with Knobs that already exists. That said, I’ve lusted about the opposite. A 1U rack Phatty with MIDI only, no knobs. Then control a bunch of them with a regular Phatty or even better a knobbed out one.
Been hoping for years for a proper racked version of Moogerfoogers - you know, not like 6+U of rack space to fit 3 with your spare wood endcheeks in a box and the jacks taking up rack space sticking up but like the the 500 series out now with the jacks on front. Where have I seen that before? I keep seeing pictures of these things with music legends playing them. Just need to add like an envelope & VCA to the Fooger line.
Sir Nose, in response to your question, I have a friend who runs a synthesizer store and he is in contact with moog aboutxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. I think an old school Phatty is a valid speculation, either that or a new line altogether. I’m looking forward to learning more.
Minitaur with keys to one up the Minibrute?
This is my guess.
This is good speculation, but I’m not sure that would necessarily “one-up” the MiniBrute, seeing as Minitaur still has osc range limitations that prevent it from playing any note above C5. I think in order to bypass this, Moog would have to make some serious changes to the circuitry, effectively making it a “not Minitaur”. So I think it’s a brand new synthesizer. But I don’t know anything.
Brand new synth would be great. Especially at the $1000 mark. Hopefully, it has a little something different to offer either control or sonically.
I’d be happy with knob per function, 2 OSC, 2 Filters, and better modulation (2 LFOs and 3 ENV, or 2 ADSR and 2 one knob Murf style AD). A ribbon the length of the keyboard would be nice. Edit: All of that easily given up for a tab bit of INNOVATION.
New Prodigy or Mirco then. Basically a minitaur configuration with Phatty oscillators and a 2 octave kb.
That’s my last guess.
Give or take a few [thousands].
I’m just hoping the layout is going to be nice.
A touchscreen and ribbon and joystick performance controller would be nice. Makes too much sense for them to actually make it.
A three voice Minitaur? That’s my next guess…
Aren’t all but a small few Moogs mono?

I predict a excessively polyphonic flatulence based oscillation station, a massive cheesy chord squeezer of a crowd please’r for the parlor music league’s
Perhaps a triple chrome plated gonzo mono with 64 Buick hubcap’s welded on it, testament to the glory of old school Liberace pointless riff running in the grand jubilation of musical masturbation

I just thought this was a funny vid in a 9 year old juvenile sort of way even if I am just a bit the jealous hater
Seriously though I can’t imagine anything cooler that this Voyager XL I been messing with, working with the second LFO through the lag and intenuater and using the touch pad
on the drum patches frigg’n assume messing with both lfo’s, amazed at the expressive sounds that are coming out of the depths of this thing.
I think we will see Animoog 2.5 at some point, but certainly Animoog 2.0 for iPhone first.
Filtratron will be updated with some neat new little features making it more useful in the iOS environment.
Another redone Moogerfooger, and probably the filter.
Another 500 series - the phaser or ring mod for sure.
MP-201 v2 will probably surface this year too… With Animoog being so big and able to communicate CV, it only makes sense that Moog provides a link between MIDI and CV with a boat load of extra features and controls.
A MIDIfied cp251 or a sort of hybrid between that and the MP201. No need for a gas pedal like the MP201, just a couple of exp. pedal inputs. With an LFO designer too.
… Wait, that’s not really a prediction, more like a wishlist ![]()
The Moog Piano. Imagine a grand or upright piano with LEV-96 / Moog guitar goodness. I believe that would be analog polyphony oscillation.
Given the price of the Moog guitar at about $500 / string that would make the piano about $44,000.
Hmmm…
Dont know why Moog never re-issued the original minimoog ? everybody else has done it! unfortunately they failed for one reason or another (identity crisis?) I considered buying one of the “Welsh” ones in the 90’s they were awarded a grant from the welsh office to go towards production, last I heard they took your money upfront and 3 - 4 months later - you got a Minimoog! a wee bit long to wait (obviously not rolling off the production line! how many were sold ? dont know, but it did get a good review here in the UK.
I used to repair/restore synths - one of the last ones I resurrected was an old E&MM 49 note, totally curtis based (3340/3310 etc..) all rust/dents, no fascia!, built a replica Mini wood chassis, encased it in black Walnut veneer, beeswaxed, revamped the wiring/components, fitted a DSI pitch/mod box, drilled an alloy front panel, worked out the panel graphics in adobe Illustrator (used a commercial printer at printing stage) Mini replica knobs, custom joystick assembly far left!
and hey1… turned out pretty good!
If Moog made something along these lines, would you buy it? ( coud’nt figure out how to insert the image of the synth, but Ill put it on myspace ) http://www.myspace.com/596234900/music
