I found some MIDI foot controllers on musicians friend for 550$ (Roland PK-5) and $480 (StudioLogic) now I figure there 70$ in difference. Now all I want to know is; is it worth that extra 70$ for the PKs or should I just keep that money and get the StudioLogics because they both do the same thing… do they :open_mouth: ???

Roland stuff is usually built well - certainly if it’s for the floor. The StudioLogic stuff i’ve seen i didn’t like (weighted keyboards etc.) compared to Roland.

I’d say save your money and get the Taurus pedals. The Rolands are very nice MIDI pedals. Well-built, heavy, everything you want in a pedal.

I’m a new user here and this is a spot I feel I can offer some advice on.
I have Taurus 1, Pk-5 and Studio Logic and of the three the PK-5’s win out. I would take the Taurus on the road if I did’nt have to lug them around/set them up, so that’s where the PK-5’s are life savers. No where near as heavy, midi capable AND the action is most like the Taurus pedals! It does’nt take a lot to push those pedals down in fact it’s almost effortless as opposed to the Studio Logic pedals. The Studio Logics are o.k., the lightest of the three and they do the job but, they are cheaply made. The pedals and pc board are mounted/screwed to the PLASTIC shell and over time with use (pushing on the pedals/downward force) the screw holes will become stripped out and the things bounce all over the place. Yes the xtra $70.00 is worth it! Hope all goes well for you.
