I have a problem with tuning which occurs when I bend on the pitch wheel. I notice there’s no fine tune in the master controls, only +2, 4, 5 etc. No matter where I tune it, it’s always flatter when i bend up than if I play the correct note on the keyboard. In other words it’s bending the pitch less than +2. I’ve checked this with a tuner to verify what I’m hearing. Is there anything that can be done to fix this? The weird thing is I’ve had the synth for a couple of years and never had this problem before. Either it’s only just gone wrong, or got worse so it’s noticeable.
Have you done the Pitch Wheel Calibration described in the manual?
I recommend doing all four calibration routines in order,
first Pitch Wheel calibration, then Note Calibration (this one takes ~90 minutes, the others are quick), then PW Amount (this is the one that will really fix your problem but you must do the others first) and then Osc2 Freq. Read the manual for more details; this is a process that you typically don’t have to do more than every year or so unless your LP travels to a lot of gigs, then you might need to calibrate more often. In any case, the end result should be excellent tuning in all circumstances.
Kind regards,
Amos
Thanks, I didn’t know about that. I’ll try it tonight. ![]()
Hi, I’ve looked through the manual and I can’t find anything about any of those calibrations or autotune, nor can I see how to do it in the master section of the synth. I have OS 1.0.2 (I think). Also I realise now that the entire intstrument is out of tune with itself (ie. one octave is not quite an octave etc) , not just the pitch wheel. Hope you can help! Thanks.
PS it’s a tribute edition, not stage.
edit looks like I need OS 1.0.3 for autotune- is this right?
Update- just found how to do the pitch wheel calibration, but the tuning problem I described is still obviously there. Thanks
Upgraded to OS 1.03, calibrated notes and pitch wheel and the problem is sorted.
