Patch change CC num ??

Hi All,
Is it possible to change patch/program using LP midi? I have checked the notes, but cannot find details. It would be odd if you couldn’t.

Great resource, glad to be here

I’m pretty sure you want to send a Program Change, not a Control Change (CC) signal. It will be a value that corresponds to the number of the preset.

Thanks Bryan T. In Ableton I never really go into program banks. Most of my gear is way to primative.

Anyway, Thank you for your reply, it answered my question perfectly.

Yes it is, of course you have to have a midi controller or controller/keyboard. Most are built with an obvious knob to send Program Changes. And it’s easy.

For example, when I plug in an Edirol PCR-800 controller (from midi OUT) to the midi IN of the LP, the main knob will send program changes as ordered, and I get a 5 octave keyboard to play the Phatty as a bonus. (Actually not a bonus, that’s what i paid the bucks for). It is assumed here that both the controller and Phatty are set to respond to midi channel 1 (which it is by default), or otherwise both set to same midi channel.

Give it a try!

I will try that out, I have a cme uf70 laying about, never really liked it, but if it gives my the spread of octaves, great, plus some control. I wouldn’t want to use the LP as a control for Ableton, thats my opinion.

Does anyone know a good service tech in London? Someone that would fix on-site if pos.. Nothing wrong at the mo, but it’s nice to have one ready with the tools.

Many thanks
