OS 2.5 to 3.4

Hello! This will be like me second post here, ever, but I do check the forum once in a while, it’s a nice source of information.

Anyways, I own an EB Voyager. It has a low serial number and so it doesn’t have the version 3 hardware upgrade. Currently it has the 2.5.

I have nevered experience bugs or problems that make me want to update the OS, but I thought I would ask here for suggestions.

Do you see a point on doing the update on the OS (with out doing the hardware upgrade)? Would I benefit from anything?

In case I do the update, is there any risk involved, maybe some incompatibility of some sort? Or the OS 3.4 shoud run flawless on any Voyager?

Thanks in advance!

Andrés

If you read the 3.4 Addendum file you will find the following on the 1st page :

Welcome to the Voyager 3.4 Operating System! O.S. 3.4 adds important new functions, features and
enhancements to the Voyager, including:

  • Individual Local ON/OFF assignments for the Keyboard, Pitch and Mod Wheels, Aftertouch, Touch Surface, Pots and Switches.
  • Enhanced pot resolution when multiple pots are adjusted at the same time.
  • LFO Sample & Hold capability for the Touch Surface, plus four selectable Amounts (OFF, 25%, 50%, 100%) for the X, Y and A axis.
  • Global Reset of selected parameters (Category, Pitch Bend, Pedal Amount, and Touch Screen LFO S&H)

So i would say yes for updating the OS…even when it is just solving some bugs.

Btw…the update should run flawless.

Hi Andrés,
it is very important to make a backup of your presets before the update.
Have fun,
Rudi

Well, thank you both for your comments! I will be doing this as soon as I have some spare time.

Andres, did it work now? cheers
