Not so sure about my new Voyager

Hey all

I just bought a Voyager select series and its amazing. However, using Ableton or Logic i noticed the Midi notes I record from the moog to the sequencer are totally different keys. By default its off by 8 semitones. I can set this through the menu, but its frustrating that i have to reset the board every time. I would like to use my Moog like my other keyboards, where i midi up and when i play a key and record my notes into a sequencer it can send those note back to the Moog the way it was intended to be. So an F key is not playing a C#

Hope that all made sense and my Moog isn’t defective

There is a MIDI transpose function in the sub menus of the Voyager. Make sure they are set correctly.

Thanks for you help on this.

Will this have to be reconfigured if i power down the Moog?

No.

Make sure the boot system got the same version number as the system version. Check it out in the MASTER menu page 5.1

Have fun,
Rudi

Thanks for everyone’s response.

MIDI Transpose which is located in menu 4.1 Master Functions is what i have been using to try and set the keys. However, it resets the semitone to 0 after I turn off the MOOG an on again.

The patch memory seems to be fine since i can save patches, but this may be a different memory chip that saves system settings?

Also on menu 5.1 i do see system version 3.4 and boot version 3.4

Thanks again for everyone’s help.

Strange problem. I had some tuning problems myself but not the ones you have. I use Logic and the Voyager together and the majority of the patches are usable in Logic for me w/o any transpose issues (sometimes I need to transpose +12 or I play it in another key on my master keyboard).

Yea this officially sucks. I have contacted MOOG and we are still trying to figure out whats going on. I wonder what a repair would be with something like this Transpose issue.
