I have a brand new Sub 37 that I’ve been playing all week with no problems. I just installed the latest firmware from the Moog site V 1.1. The installation was a success, (both phases), and the Moog restarted itself just like it was supposed to. Everything appears to be normal — all patches appear the same way, lights are blinking like it’s ready to play, etc.
But no sound is coming out. Not a single patch actually yields any sound. I’ve checked cables, all volume knobs, filter is up, both oscillators are turned up, and it’s not a connectivity issue. Midi local control is on. All settings appear to be the same as I didn’t change any of them when I first got the Moog to begin with, so the restored settings should still be working for me.
There is just absolutely no sound. I’ve been combing the internet for 2 hours trying to find someone with this problem but to no avail. Tech support isn’t open today. I leave for tour on Tuesday.
I don’t know why Moog regularly don’t put the latest firmware/software versions in the download tabs on the product pages on the Moog website, but the most recent Sub 37 firmware is actually 1.2.0, which comes with version 1.0.0 of the software editor. You get a link to that after registering your synth with Moog. Or just get it directly using this link: http://www.moogmusic.com/firmware/Sub_37_Editor_v1_0_0.zip
Do you know what firmware version was loaded before you changed the firmware? Maybe you actually downgraded to 1.1 and maybe that is causing the problem? The 1.1 firmware was released in 2015, so I’d expect new units to ship with 1.2.0 already installed.
Also, does the headphone out also produce no sound?
Hey, I have exactly the same problem. No sound, no sound from headphones either… Everything looks to be working alright, all lights are different when you change patches, and even patches with sequences on seem to be playing when pressing keys… but no sound… Just updated the latest firmware… but no sound… please help!
So, I found the answer… What happens is that you lose the presets sounds and have to reload those… You need to go to the product page of the sub37 (not support page) and go to the download page of the sub… Over there you can download the factor presets and send it to the sub… you should be fine then!
