New toy coming soon. Anybody want an old one?

Well, I finally worked up the nerve to order a Therevox ET-4. If you don’t know what that is, see this: http://therevox.com.

Since I’ll have this little beast soon (did I mention it has CV out?), I’ve decided to let go of my Doepfer R2M Ribbon Controller. I have it up on E(vil)bay if anyone is interested: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Doepfer-R2M-Ribbon-Controller-/121213510718?pt=Keyboards_MIDI&hash=item1c38e3643e.

I have it listed as make-an-offer, so if you’re interested, let me know you’re from the forum and I’ll be a bit more flexible when you make an offer.

Congrats!! The EtherVox seems so fun to play

Fantastic! I wasn’t able to find any prices on their website, how much is the ET-4?

They have 3 models depending on what options you want. The 4.1 is the starter at around 1400US. They also have a 4.2 and a 4.3. Each jump up is about 500US.

They will do mods, however. For example, the 4.2 comes with filter resonance (the 4.1 does not), but it also comes with other features I don’t need, so I just ordered the 4.1 with added filter resonance control mod that cost an extra 150 or so.

The word is, it has CV out that can control the pitch (or other function) of, say, a Voyager. So, I’m really looking forward to trying that out as well.

(update) My ET-4 has shipped…

Just out of curiosity, what made you choose the Therevox over the French Connection?

Good question.
The French Connection costs around $3200US, and it’s still just a controller (you need a synth to play with it).

The Therevox ET-4 only cost me $1500US, and it is a dual-oscillator analog synth on its own, with analog filter control, and a built-in spring-reverb.

So, to me, it just seems like a better deal.

Oh yeah, there’s the price to consider…

The Therevox arrived yesterday . . . HOLY MOTHER OF GOD… what a unique and satisfying instrument to play (and control a Moog with). I’ll get around to posting some samples soon. It’ll take me a bit to learn enough to make a watchable demo. haha

Oh, and my Doepfer R2M is still available if anyone is interested.

Never heard of the Therevox before :open_mouth: I’m definitely impressed, thanks for sharing.
