groovergrl23,
Welcome to the group! I have a lot of connections back in New Orleans. I used to go to a lot of clubs and parties, but I haven’t been to anything except Dr. Freecloud’s since I moved to Los Angeles 3 years ago.
We have small parties at my place for close friends from time to time, but mostly I do studio work and collaborate on projects with my friends from the Bid Easy. Have you ever heard of Tee Cee? He just released a track on a compilation CD featuring DJ Icey a few months ago. He does a lot of NuSkool Breaks.
I LOOOOVE to dance.
I’ve been popping (a dance style, for those of you who may not know) since I was 16 or so.
Incidentally, popping is usually done to music which is rich in moog tones (Zapp and Roger, George Clinton, Gap Band, etc). I actually became interested in synths after dancing to this music as well as electro funk.
I hate to dance! Got two left feet! I’ve only ever attempted to dance when completely drunk!
Welcome Groove Girl…
Dancing is the bomb when you got a nice buzz goin’ but other than that I steer clear of the floor… Actually at Moogfest this year my crew and I were like the only ones dancing… We are in Santa Barbara north of you by 80 miles or so… Keep in touch..

Nick, you live in Santa Babara? I live about an hour north of there in San Luis Obispo. If you’re in a band, let me know if you play up here some time!
Well…no one is ever born with the knowledge of how to dance, just as no one is born a concert pianist. Its all about practice and patience.
You should give it a try, it may give you a new perspective on the music which you play and listen to.
Who was the last concert pianist you saw with two left hands?
-Tyler2000-
Keith Emerson’s left hand is better than most piano players’ RIGHT hand.
You can almost hear him quoting Princess Bride: “I am not left handed” ![]()
well i recently dicovered this new dance dvd called breakin it down and it is sooo awesome!! my sister who works at universal gave it to me and it is with laurie ann gibson…the choreographer from makin the band 3. it is so fun to do and pretty easy to learn!! it made my fear or dancing in public go away!! has anyone here ever heard of it?
Havent heard of it. What style of dancing is it?
Also, there are tons of free (and legit) instructional videos available on the internet if you know where to look. A lot of these videos feature some legendary dancers.
