My next Moogerfooger should be:

Good idea, will report back later tonight if no one else gets a chance to test this first.

I voted phaser, just because it goes with the ring mod so well. Those two running into each other make for some awesome effects. Hope this is helpful! Be sure to check out my YouTube vids for sound samples of the 102 and 103 in action with the Little Phatty.

Which videos have the samples?

All of them at some point make use of the 'Foogers. I’d suggest the first set of videos I posted, as I let the viewers know when I kick them on and off. Would you like links?

No. I can find them. I just remember that each vid is like 10 minutes with only a little bit of audio. A little editing would go a long way . . .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vACFbgeS0R0 This one’s the best. And I’m getting better at editing videos, and talking less. Thanks for the advice! I’m still pretty new at making videos, so please be kind. The early ones were the worst. My later ones aren’t horrible. Still bad, but not horrible.

So I tried using the CP unit again for audio mixing purposes, and much to my surprise the 60hz hum stuff disappeared! I did notice though that there is a high pitch whining leak that comes through at very low volumes. nothing that’ll stop you from dropping the volume down into the LP at a reasonable gain.

The attenuators seem to work just fine, although you get next to no knob movement between full blast and off (i’m assuming the osc is coming out at a relatively low voltage.)

I’ve never used the Cp mixer like this myself, but an old piece of advice from GregAE recommends you always make sure the mixer offset is at zero. Otherwise you’ll get a DC offset voltage ripping your speakers.

I did have it @ zero, I’m assuming though that this was high pitch whine? It seems to leak through (very quietly) regardless of the settings, although it is quiet enough to just drown it out from whatever audio you’re running through it. The CV mixer handles audio quite well, no weird freq spectrum or anything, bass and high end both come through sounding great.

::edit:: on a similar note I wanted to mention this whine was the exact same heard back when I tried a CP-251 sharing power w/ a VX unit. Anything you would patch into would introduce the whining into the synth, so I had to ditch that option.

I also tried filtering out the whine…that never worked lolol. Whatever is causing it isn’t in the audio chain.

8 whole votes. I have to admit that the Bass MuRF holds a lot of interest for me, but it isn’t a popular choice in the poll.

Bass MuRF is waaay better than the regular version imo, gotta have the low end.

That’s my thinking, too. For use with my Little Phatty and bass it makes the most sense. Heck, drum machines and guitar, too.

Aye, and really w/ the bass murf losing a little high end is well worth getting down to 110hz. It’s darker, but in return much more usable as an effects send for audio (drums, synths, samples) than just a cool instrument to use w/ your guitar.

I guess it could be argued that getting both would be nice too.
