Muse-Newbie: Can't get rid of delay settings

Dear all, due to the positive reviews, I purchased a Muse and am quite impressed by its sound and capabilities (modulation, delay, …). It’s a very nice complement to my Sequential respectively Oberheim gear.

In the Firmware 1.4 Patch Banks I found a patch called »Uncle Guanciale« which I’d like to use, but with some more traditional delay settings than the attached “smear” delay.

However, for some reason, I do not manage to figure out how to get rid of the smear delay settings and replace it with a more traditional delay. Methods tried:

  • Use the front panel controls and the delay menu to alter all dealy settings. The “smear” effect did not go away.
  • Recall some init patch with default delay settings. Now copy over Timbre B from the »Uncle Guanciale« preset (in the expectation this would only copy over Timbre B, without delay parameters). Unfortunately, the delay parameters are copied over as well.
  • I used the manual (thanks for it, BTW) and some LLM in the hope to get some idea, but to no avail.

So in case someone could share some hint or point me to some documentation I didn’t find yet, it was much appreciated.

Happy easter and happy knobbin’!

Choose Timbre B, look at the mod slots and disable them as you wish. The mod slots show what is effecting what beyond the front panel controls.

This helped iron out the issue. The macro knob was set to increase the diffusion amount and times. What I didn’t notice before was that the position of the macro knob is saved with the preset. And it was saved as 100%.

Thanks a whole bunch.
