Is it possible for me to control the steps of my MuRF pedals using the Voyager touch screen?
I know I can use it to set the tempo, but I want to use the gate out from the touch screen to actually step.
So… every time I touch the screen, it advances.
I tried doing this and am unsuccessful.
Is this possible? (I have a really cool idea… I just “need” this to work)
Remember, the MuRF tap/step input is “V-trig”. The output is normally high, so when you break the connection (“open”), the step should advance.
Normal foot pedal/gate:
5V |¯¯|
0V
V-trig:
5V
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|__|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
0V
So what you need (I think) is to invert the gate signal. Can’t quite think of the answer at the moment, but it might involve the inverting output of the mixer with an offset thrown in.
Not to say that Latigid on is wrong, it makes sense given my answer to follow; I don’t know… Here’s my two cents anyways:
I was trying to accomplish the same thing with my foot switch. I bought a two mono to stereo Y cable. The tap tempo input is on the tip, and the step function is on the ring. When I plug the foot switch with the TRS into the L side it isolates the input to the tip…
You probably have to either make your Voyager do the same, or get a Y cable.
