Moving the CP-251's power connection to the back panel?

I recently purchased a mounting kit so that I can put my VX-351 and CP-251 together. However, I’m not really sure how to move the power input from the top of the CP to the rear, as there weren’t any instructions. Can anyone help me out here?

Relatedly, is the special wooden middle connector piece really necessary or can I do without? Thanks!

Pop off the plastic cover on the back and save it to put in the other hole. Unplug the recpticle and squeeze the lock tab and remove the recpt. Install in other hole and plug back to circuit board. Put plastic cover in old hole.
It will look horrible without the special wood connector and dirt can get in it.

Thanks for the quick reply! I’m having trouble with the lock tab… what exactly does it look like? The inner connector (as far as I can tell) has three main parts: the board (that the cable/lead connects to), a threaded cylinder, and a nut. On the main board, there is a small piece of metal that isn’t connected to anything. Is that the lock?

OK, you have a different style recpt. Just unscrew the nut to remove. No lock tab.

I’m not sure how to remove the nut. It’s right up against the back panel and the power connector makes it hard to access. Pliers aren’t doing the job. Should I be using a wrench for this? It seems odd that doing the job would require such a thing.

I use a curved jaw needle nose plier on those.

Curved needle nose pliers did the trick! Thanks so much!
