Is there any way to get rid of the loud line noise from the Moogerfooger Low Pass Filter?
I love it, it works great with my Moog theremin and adds a great amount of expression, but the line noise is really bad both with and without VC connections, and even when the theremin is turned off.
Any ideas welcome, I’ve been trying to fix this for a long time, lifting grounds, different effects chaining, new cables, nothing yet gets rid of the loud hum.
Well I really do love this pedal, but just can’t use it. The line noise is so bad from it I can only use it in loud rock settings, it’s far too noisy for my usual solo classical performances. After asking several times, I’m saddened Moog could never tell me any way to get rid of the awful line noise when I use it with my theremin, it added a lot to the sound.
oh well, all I can say is don’t buy it if you need a clean signal.
That’s a shame, mine works great! It can be a little noisy in some situations, but mostly it’s quiet. Old electrical circuits & poor wiring in buildings as well as overhead power line areas are mainly the culprit. It is the nature of all electronic devices, some amplify and some transmit. The cost to change the design can result in many other underirable performance issues…
It’s always made the noise in any location. I’m in a new wired apartment, I’ve tried plugging it into a lifted ground cord.
What do you mean by shield it?
