Moog Source w/ Kenton PS Mk3. MIDI notes transpose the Source

Niche question, I realize. I’m controlling a Moog Source with the Kenton Pro Solo MK3. It works as expected… mostly. The odd thing, though, is that any note played on the external keyboard transposes Source’s whole keyboard.

For example, if I play low C on the Source, then play a D from the external keyboard (or sequencer) on the Source/Kenton’s MIDI channel, now low C on the Source is D instead. The workaround most of the time is to not touch the Source’s keyboard at all, but sometimes notes sent from sequencers still transpose it anyway.

Example–I’m programming a sequence from OXI One Mk2 or MPC Live (or Logic Pro) and place steps for C - Eb - G. When I push play, the Source now plays G - Bb - D, because that last G in I programmed changed the Source’s low C to a G.

Weird, I know. Anyone familiar enough with these two keyboards to know if I’m missing a setting in the Kenton that will correct this? Source serial number is 2499.

Haha no answers but I get it–not a lot of people with the same issue I’m sure. Just in case, for archive purposes, Kenton themselves answered.

“Before playing via the Pro Solo, play the lowest key on the Moog’s
keyboard to rest the Moog. Here’s what’s happening.

They Moog keyboard use a sample and hold circuit to remember the last
note played. However, the Moog’s CV IN does not replace that sampled
voltage, but adds to it. Hence everything gets transposed. By playing
the lowest note, you reset the sampled voltage to zero.”

So basically, turn on the Source and the Kenton, play the lowest note on the Source’s keyboard, and then don’t play its keyboard again while using the Kenton to send MIDI/CV to it. Many thanks to the Kenton tech folks.
