Moog Realistic Mg-1 Problem

Hello Everyone.

I’m not going to lie I am bit of a newbie when it comes to owning a moog synth

So I recently purchased one of these MG-1’s and just got it in the mail. Upon starting it up, I realized it is stuck in continuous tone mode. When I go to switch it into keyed mode, I get nothing. Is there some kind trick to getting out of this state or does it seem to be broken?

welcome to the forum!
As to your MG1, with it set to “keyed”, cutoff freq to “max”, ones 1 and 2 and polyphony set to “max”, you still get nada? If so, I’d send it back if you paid top dollar- It’s probably fixable, but if you’re new to synthesis, I’m guessing you’d be new to synthesis repair-

Welcome pbdlugoss !

I second what filtered said.

Flipping the “Tones Sources” switch to “Keyed” position, in the “Contour” section, means that the sound should be either fully “on” or “off” when pressing keys on the keyboard, regardless of all other settings in the contour section.
If it doesn’t, with all the levels at maximum in the “mixer section”, then I’m afraid it’s defective.
