Moog Prodigy - really a complex circuit??

Hi.

I´m kind of shocked, because I have to pay 230 € (around 280 US$)
for service on my prodigy. The OSC 2 wasn´t doing anything.
The
service company (germany) claims that it has a very complicated
circuit, and it took a look of time to calibrate it. Actualy I think they
just replaced an IC, and some people told me that the circuit of
the Prodigy is very easy and that the service manuals are very good.
Calibration should take 30-60 minutes. Best of it all: The INTERVAL
Knob is on 0 detune at about 11 o´clock, and goes up to ca. 12 semi
and down to ca. 10 semi.

What do you think?

Which company repaired your Prodigy?

It was a company in Aachen. Why?

Why?

Maybe the company hasn’t so much experience in repairing old analog stuff.
Also the repair costs are depend on the condition of the synth.
You can adjust the range of the oscillators on the rear panel of the Prodigy. It’s easy and all you need is a screw driver.
