Can anyone direct me to where I can find the approximate value of a Moog muSonics Series V? Works fine though missing some slider caps.
It’s one of those synths that do not exchange hands often enough to really establish a typical value. Someone may luck onto a buyer who wants one bad and can pay while others don’t know the unusual heritage or got it for peanuts and would let it go for pretty cheap. You could probably count on it being worth more than a Sonic 6 based on relationship to it and rarity but that’s not very specific. It’s also not so insanely rare that they expect big money like a Moog Modular or anything anywhere near that.
I sold mine for just over $2000 around 2 years ago. It was in decent condition (missing a slider cap, scaling was a tiny bit off, whined a little).
I put a few clips on youtube and listed it on ebay, and was happy with what it sold for.
It all comes down to who wants to buy it. Just represent it for what it is and hold out until your satisfied with the amount to part with it.
