Topkick!
The ribbon controller does not seem to work. I have an iPad Air. Updated to ios 9.3.1
Just read the manual. You have to patch the Controller Output to another input like Frequency. Pity none of the patches seem to be pre-patched. It works nicely now.
It would be nice if the Animoog recording was saved with the patch. Not sure that is not the case so must read the manual.
this is a nice app, a moog 15 modular at last! however i would have preferred a 960 sequential controller rather than a simple arpeggiator.
Crumbs! Moog gives you 4 Model 15s for $30 and you still gripe about the sequencer. Some people are never happy.
Plugin version please, Moog.
yes a plugin should be nice.
but most of all, why is this app only compatible with 64bit Idevices ??
I work on ipad 2 and iphone 4S and Model15 is not for me…
what a shame … or is it snobbery ?
I am loving the app so far. I can’t believe my iPhone has a synth with such depth!
It is not snobbery. They tried testing it on devices below 5S with 32 bit architecture and the audio would crackle. I am using the iPhone 5S and once and awhile there will be a short crackle, so i imagine anything below this would not be enough. They wanted to take advantage of Apple’s new technology called “metal”, which only 64 bit will really benefit from.
There are templates with the ribbon controller already patched in ![]()
Just speculating as an observer… Moog seems to be about expressiveness when it comes to their instruments. They never made animoog into a VST, I’m guessing this is partly because there would not have been a multi dimensional keyboard. So it may be that it is the ability to touch the interface and be expressive that entices Moog.
So I don’t see the model 15 becoming a VST… UNLESS more daw’s start supporting MPE (multi-polyphonic expression). Then maybe we’ll see a plugin format. As far as I know, Bitwig is the only DAW that supports MPE at the moment.
Also.. I wonder how releasing a plugin version would affect hardware sales…
Is the empty space on the bottom for additional modules that will be available later? In-app purchase?
Wow…
Sounds like something The Knights Who Say Ni want as appeasement:
“We want… a Snobbery!” (Ominous Chord!)

Don’t see how Ableton + Push or any good midi controller or even a mouse would really impede the usability of this - and I don’t think it’s likely to impact sales, given that most people are never going to own a modular system given price / storage considerations. On the contrary, given the popularity of daws and Arturia’s (pretty poor if I’m honest) Moog modular vst, having done the hard work in modelling and designing the UI, I think Moog could vastly improve their return on investment by bringing the technology to computer music makers. Still tempted to buy for my iPad, but at the same time that device isn’t part of my workflow except as a control surface.
