Moog Minimoog D modifications

Hello there Moog users/fans!

After many years of searching and waiting I bought Mini D

I always loved modding synths. I saw few mods on the internet by it was impossible to find some tutorials etc.

I’d like to add:

I found sth like this but no more infos at all :frowning:

Can anyone help me?
Radek

Sorry, I hate modifications on these good old treasures.
Mods destroy the original shape and decrease the value.

A good Midi interface is a nice mod.

And there is only one that is build in and adds no button, switch or other things visible except for the Midi in socket.

And by some strange coincident, it is build by Rudi. Well known here by his “RL” nick name.

But anyway,
my minimoog got a ribbon bender (a Moog Liberation part) in favour for the then worn out pitch bend. I would not do such a thing today.
But the original state is preserved:

  • The two pots for pitchbend range and center are in the holes of the Glide and Release foot switch sockets. The sockets are still conected and are hidden under the left hand section.
  • The housing is a self made replica. The original one is stored at my parents place for over 25 years.
  • The original wheel and all cables are still there. Just two solder points and unsoldering of one cable will make it like the real thing.

Ok Till,
better: I hate holes in the front panel!
OK?
Rudi

Hi Till

Any infos how to make pot with pitch bend range?

I don’t know how to do this on the pitch bend wheel.
But I would guess, that you need to add a pot on the center connection of the wheel pot.

Some one knows if is there a mod to put a single X-Y joystick at the place of the two modulation wheels. Or how can I do that starting from a general purpose X-Y joystick.

Cheers,

Gianluca
