I’m trying to update the firmware on my Moog Grandmother and have run into an issue where the unit now appears stuck in bootloader mode.
Here’s exactly what happened:
-
I downloaded firmware v1.3 from the Moog website and used SysEx Librarian on macOS to transfer the files.
-
I sent the files in this order: Invalidate → Erase → firmware_v1_1_3.syx.
-
After sending the firmware file, the ARP light began blinking red continuously and did not stop.
-
I power-cycled the Grandmother and tried again using a slower SysEx transfer speed.
-
The result was the same: continuous red blinking on the ARP light.
-
I then downloaded the older firmware v1.1 and attempted the update again.
-
This produced the same result (red blinking).
-
During troubleshooting, I noticed that the Moog Global Settings app reported that firmware v1.3 is required, while the currently installed firmware was shown as v1.1.
-
I then used the Erase and Invalidate files from firmware v1.1, followed by sending firmware v1.3 again.
-
After this attempt, the ARP light no longer blinks red, but now flashes orange continuously.
-
Most recently, on power-up, the ARP light is now alternating between red and green.
Thank you for any help!!
