I would like to slowly modulate the waveform under an arpeggio or repeating sequence. Ordinarily, the way to modulate the waveform would be to set a path or orbit. The problem: path and orbit both reset with a new keypress. Result: the modulation never gets very far. Is there a way to set the path/orbit so that they run freely? Or, if not, another way to accomplish the same thing (namely, slowly modulate the waveform)?
If you are using a sequencer on your iPad to control Animoog (like Genome or PolyStepArp), could you use the sequencer to do the modulation for you via CC messages?
That would work for some modulations (e.g., filter). But to modulate the waveform itself, you need to move through the X/Y space – either horizontally through one timbre, or vertically through another timbre. So far as I can tell, these X/Y movements restart with each new note.
On the ENV/MOD section assign the LFO to PATH-ORIGIN. that will get you what you want, in principle. It worked for me by keeping the LFO at 0.1 hz. Might not be exactly what you’re after though. Give it a shot.
Cheers,
Nuno
It took me a few tries to understand what I should do, but that worked, Nuno. Thank you. Here are a couple screenshots to illustrate. One shows a simple path through the XY field, the other shows how to set up the mod bay. NOTE: the percentage of LFO amount that you set in the mod bay will determine how much of your path will be traversed. For example, 35 LFO amount (not LFO rate) will make the glowing dot travel 35% of your path. To travel the whole path, set amount to 100.
