Forgive me if this is a simple problem, but the Minitaur is my first hardware synth and according to the directions on the box it says the drivers will automatically install after connecting it USB (and of course the power connection also).
I tried 2 different USB cables, one from a midi controller and one from my MBOX and for some reason I am not seeing any drivers being installed.
Am I missing a step? I don’t have a MIDI cable but if that is what is required I can get one b/c my controller can use that but I thought I could just connect the miniature via USB and have it work.
I searched google but the only results were youtube demos of the minitaur and the product page on the Moog website.
The drivers should be installed already on your PC: The Minitaur and many other USB equipped synths like the Blofeld use a generic MIDI USB driver. So you can’t see the driver being installed. it is just there.
And how should a USB device install a driver on the USB host? Should it send some kind of an auto-batch file to the PC?
So switch on the Minitaur and connect it to a running PC or Mac via a USB cable. That’s it. All you need not is a software on your computer to send some useful data to the Minitaur. A sequencer for example.
I have the same problem with 2 PCs: XP SP3 both PCs are not connected to the Internet.
Hardware Assistant says: Hardwareinstallation is not possible. On my INternet PC, also XP SP3, everything ist o.k. and I can see the Minitaur in my ABleton Live as USB Audio Device
What can I do to bring the right drivers to my other music PCs?
You might ask these questions on a PC forum, as these are not caused by the Moog Minitaur, but your Computer.
And please: always try connecting USB MIDI gear straight and without a use of a USB hub. These hubs often are the problem with MIDI via USB.
I don’t use a usb hub and go direct with the Minitaur in my Laptop (Think Pad T61). Normally I use a lot of USB Controller and all of these are installed without problems. I only have this problem with the Minitaur. Also I search in many of WIndows XP forum’s about this problem, but don’t found answers.
Has nobody else this problem here and maybe a answer for me? I need the Minitaur for my Ableton Live Laptop !!!
