I can’t seem to get the Minitaur to sustain a note longer than the midi signal. In other words I need to keep one hand (Novation MKII) or foot (Roland PK-5a) on to hear any sound at all times. Once I let go, the sound stops no matter how much sustain I dial in. I’ve treied all kinds of settings with no luck.
I have a DSI Evolver and can have a nice long sustain that lets me switch back to playing bass nicely. Can I achieve this with the Minitaur? I’m relatively new to the synth world so I figured I would post to see if I could get a pro tip or two.
Any help would be appreciated.
The Minitaur can perform all kinds of envelope functions, including sustain, depending on the patch currently in use.
You may have a patch called up from memory that is not using sustain.
The easiest way to check this out would probably be to hook up to the Editor and check out the various presets ~
The knob / function settings for each preset will be displayed on the main Editor screen.
Also make sure you have the latest (downloaded) manual for the Minitaur -
The update includes a reference about the Editor, and describes how to move between presets and “panel mode” using buttons on the Minitaur when you are not using the Editor.
FWIW, I started a separate thread discussing the Editor that might be of help:

Good luck, and have fun!
The Minitaur is a VERY cool little synth - just takes a bit a of “hands-on” to get familiar with its capabilities!! ![]()

Sustain is the level of the Note On for either the VCA or VCF once the Attack time and Release are exhausted AND while you hold the Note key.
To have a note last longer than the point at which you release the key, make sure you have the Release button light up on your Minitaur. This is what activates the (R) of the Minitaur ADS(R) envelopes. Also, make the Release time on the VCA half a second or more for longer release (or the equivalent on your MIDI transferred patch or VST usb driven).
