A friend of mine sent this video to me a long time ago. I just came across it again. It sort of explains how great this little beast is.

Really nice video. Thanks for sharing.
No offense, but I canât stand that video. Thatâs not what a model D sounds like, or only after itâs been eviscerated by digital processing. At least he could have had the real sound of the mini mixed in with the effects. But it still sounds better than any digital synth I have heard.
None taken, But that was the whole point of the video to show The Uncommon Sounds. ![]()
Yes I too love the standard Minimoog sound. Who doesnât.
Thanks for posting this vid!
I agree, there are hundreds of audio and video recordings of the âstereotypicalâ Minimoog sound. Of course we love those Jan Hammer/Chick Corea/whatever screaming leads, P-Funk basses, etc. But itâs great to hear something different for a change.
Thatâs one thing I love about synthesizers - they give you the opportunity to create original sounds if you truly desire it. Sure, itâs fun to copy our heroes but some of us actually want to find our own sounds.
Pretty cool actually. Liked the carillon-like sounds in the beginning using audio rate FM to filter. I like the stereotypical minimoog sound as much as everybody but always get giddy when I hear something that I didnât know could be done on a minimoog. I get a lot of atypical sounds on my Memorymoog.
Thereâs at least one other âuncommonâ minimoog on YT.
