An observation so far for my setup. I have both the USB connected (Win 7 x64) and midi in/out connected via a Motu Midi Express XT interface to the Sub 37 .Until now I had been using the midi in out testing the Editor and have had a number of issues . Every time I’d load the editor it would require reading all patches. The patches would never appear by default on the Librarian page on the right side once the retrieving patches from the Sub 37 . The only way any patches would appear was if I changed presets on the synth itself and then it would populate a patch list. I decided to use the USB drivers and negate midi and it downloaded the patches and everything appeared as it should and no more issues upon loading. I went back to midi In/Out to test it again and it’s fine now that the patches were downloaded correctly via the USB driver .. Glad it’s functioning now , but strange behavior initially with midi In/Out .
Strange indeed.
Please try the following:
- Disconnect USB, but keep MIDI In and Out connected
- Delete all Editor preferences
- Reload Editor
- Set Midi In and Out ports to your soundcard’s midi in/out
- Perform GET
- Is the progress bar going all the way up to 100% ?
- Do you see any error message on the top of the HARDWARE PRESETS right pane on the Librarian page ? (mostly it will be either INVALID SYSEX or HARDWARE DISCONNECTED)
Also, does GET takes noticeably longer when done via MIDI rather than USB on your system ?
Thanks, Gil.
Hey Gil ,
Load time between USB and Midi are the same .. 2 min 27 seconds approx . Here’s the results as a reference given the error code changes each time. Progress bar reaches 100% every time .
Midi -retrieve Error Code - 203784 , 203789 , 203785 , 203787 .
The preset list doesn’t populate automatically , I need to select a patch via the synth then the patches come up .
Cheers
Midi -retrieve Error Code - 203784 , 203789 , 203785 , 203787 .
Does this means you end up with an INVALID SYSEX message each time you perform GET using DIN MIDI ?
Yeah every time , Invalid Sysex via DIN Midi . I just did a retrieve again now and the error code was 203718 . I have a couple other midi interface options so I could test something different to the Motu Midi express Xt if you want as a reference.
.
OK, thanks for the report. We actually aware of some DIN MIDI potential issues and it’s being inspected. I will add your report as well.
