anyone has experience with this, what do I need to get it and how much does it cost?
I would be really interested in finding out about any midi theremin. The only one seems to be the Moog one which is out of production and incredibly expensive. A guy called Horst in Australia has a website which claims to be producing one next (don’t know which) year but has not replied to two emails; reading the Theremax site carefully it looks as though the midi device requires some sort of trigger other than the theremin, although the theremin will modify a note already playing, which is not very good. Has anyone tried the wavefront pitch to midi converter? I sent them an email asking how well it worked and saying that it struck me as an inherently bad idea, which was probably not very diplomatic, and they didn’t reply. A Welsh company make something which looks identical. Did one of them steal the design off the other? They also didn’t reply to an email.

I’m in the process of re-writing the Owner’s manual for the MCV1a Theremin to MIDI/CV interface. I’m doing this for Theremin Sales here in the UK, or to be more precise, Wales. This device was a joint collaboration designed by Jake Rothman (of Theremin Sales, designer of many Theremins) and Adam Fullerton. The design of this device was published as a project in EPE (a hobby electronics magazine) which I believe you can buy and read in Australia (!)
Here is a link to the details: www.thereminsales.co.uk/tmin.html#mcv1a (if you have problems just go to thereminsales.co.uk and follow the link).
I happened across this forum as I was looking for information regarding MIDI synths and sound modules that would accept large pitch shifts via MIDI. So, any suggestions for a MIDI sound generating device suitable to use with Theremin?

This is a tabletop or 1/2 rack mount device that converts the pitch and amplitude from a theremin to both MIDI and CV.
