I’m considering going to a lumber yard and getting some wood to make my own side panels for my LP. Do the grey sides come off with ease or do a bunch of its innards get all dismantled in doing so? I think it would be pretty cool to make my own side panels. Is it ash that is the traditional moog wood? I thought ash was a lighter color? If it’s ash, do they stain it with something to get it to be that color?
It’s really easy, just unscrew the big screws around the sides. There is a board connected to the jacks with little screws. i don’t remember if this board is also mounted to the base of the synth. I don’t think you’ll hurt anything to easily. Most of the electronics are mounted behind the panel, which is still held up by the back.
