LP midi timing issue

Hi all. Just got my Little Phatty shipped out to Australia recently and am really enjoying it. There is only one problem that’s really bugging me, and I don’t know if it’s something I can fix by adjusting a setting somewhere either with the LP or cubase.

Basically, when I hook the LP up via midi (using a Steinberg USB midi interface & Cubase 5.0) to my sequencer and play back a perfectly quantized midi pattern, the LP plays it back with slight timing discrepancies. I’m not talking about latency here, but timing that is intermittently wrong, a note staggered here or there, whereas my JP-8000 plays it back with 100% perfect timing, as it should be.

While I bought the LP primarily for playing rather than sequencing mechanically it would be nice to be able to play back a sequence in time if necessary. Can anyone shed light on this?

Hmm, maybe I should contact Moog about this… not sure if I would be wasting their time with something obvious though.

this is a known issue as has already been fixed. if you haven’t already, download the new-ish OS (1.02d i think?). otherwise there’s going to be a brand new OS update with a PLETHORA of added features as well coming out this month.

OK, I’ll look into that. Thanks for the reply CTRLSHFT

Let me know if the MIDI timing is better for you with OS 1.02d… I am very curious. Email me, amos (at) moogmusic.com with your observations. Thanks!
