The morphing and preset mixing function does not seem to work when I’m using the editor librarian. I load up the sounds I have on my LP to the editor, then try and morph/mutate them etc but it results in a number of the initial presets on my LP being overwritten by test tones (which disappera when I power down the LP and power up again), rather than morphed ones. Is this a known bug or might I be doing something wrong. Anyone had a similar problem and sorted it out?
I had this reply from Sound Tower but don’t really understand it.
It really should work but we will double checked in any case. If you getting initial values please make sure that the preset data is loaded to the editor. Also there is a similar function in the Preset Genetics.
Many thanks
so when you go into preset genetics and pick “mommy and daddy” patches and have ALL the “exclude” boxes unchecked and click “morph” you get all test tones (calibration patch?)in all 100 patch slots?
Hi Dlearyus
No. When I go into preset genetics and pick ‘mommy’ and ‘daddy’ patches and have all the ‘exclude’ buttons unchecked and then press morph I get test tones on the first 20 patches on my LP NOT the editor. The test tones vanish when I power up the LP again. I am unable to ‘auto audition’ the morphed kiddies. The only way I can hear what I have is to use the replace user bank with kids option. I then, of course, have lost all my original presets and have a load of morphed ones, most of which are useless.
Sooo, why can’t I 'auto audition my morphed presets and where are these test tones coming from. There must be some box I need to check or uncheck somewhere but for the life of me I can’t find it.
yes there is in fact a box in the preset genetics window at top “Auto Audition” that needs to be checked. also when you start the editor go into the midi setup and reselect your “midi out” device/port. Even tho i had my midi setup from the initial install/setup it did not send any midi to my LPTE from the preset genetics screen until i reselected it and hit “ok”. When i morphed a couple patches i was able to click on on of the “kids” and it was sent to my LP however this is not a permanant write to the LP. i chose patch 1 & 2 to morph…1st kid was patch 1 unchanged then alot of scrambled letter patches till patch 100 which was patch 2. as i chose each kid to audition it was sent to the LP scrambled letters and all no “tones”. hope this helps
Thanks for your help. I did all you suggested and still no joy. I was getting a preset received signal very briefly when I tried to morph but it was not loading to the LP’s buffer.
However, I then tried swapping my midi device and used an old Midisport 2x2 I had in a draw and, what do you know, the editor now communicates perfectly with my LP.
I can have as many morphed sounds as I want.
Triffic.
checking your midi to the LP was gonna be my next suggestion
glad to hear all is well…pretty handy piece of software but again WHERE IS THE VST VERSION GUYS???
