I’m finding it quite difficult to find a Model D over here in the UK.
The last two that were advertised for sale on Londons Craiglist turned out to be a dirty scammer claiming to live on the Shetland Islands with Minimoogs and Modulars for sale. After some investigation I found out that the person has scammed or tried to scam many people in the past. So please be careful when buying used Moogs!!
But I digress, does anyone know anyone that may be thinking about selling a Model D Mini?? Preferably UK so that I can try it out and collect it in person!

£3990 ouch!! I hope thats not the average price nowadays!
That’s about twice the going rate on this side of the Atlantic. Someone’s having a laugh if they want the better part of 4,000 quid for one.
On the other hand, Richard Lawson’s tech strips these instruments down and does a thorough clean/repair job. There’s many hours of careful restoration behind his prices.
I know because he sold one of my synths for me. I happen to think he paid me a good price and the final price to the guy who bought it was ridiculous, but at least everyone was happy.
There are Minis available a lower prices, certainly. A couple of years ago I saw one sell for about a grand. That was Steve Hillage’s former Mini, so it had some history for people who like that kind of thing. It also had a few holes in the case where no longer working modifications had been removed. I have no idea how stable it may have been. So that’s the other extreme from Richard Lawson’s instruments. We have a choice between rough and relatively cheap, and pretty near immaculate but expensive - and hopefully something in between.
Initially I too was pretty astounded by RL Music’s prices, but I can now see why they’re so high. They do seem to be getting higher, though…
Ebay has had a few Minis at midrange prices in Britain, though I don’t keep a watch so I don’t know how often they’re coming up now and whether prices are rising.
