Hey everyone -
A friend of mine has a Mother-32 that accidentally got knocked off a table and broke one of the patchbay input jacks.
Photos attached below
I’ve been trying to find a service manual or any information online about the specific part but haven’t had any luck.
Anyone here know what kind of jack I would need to replace the damaged one? I thought it would just be a normal jack wired to a board but it turns out it has this box that I’m not familiar with.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks!
If you don’t have a part no you can desolder the broken one and compare the pinout to 6,3mm / .25" female “nose up” connector offers on amazon or ebay. Mind the height of the connectors.
It looks like a common 3 pin 3.5mm jack used in many products including lots of modular synth modules.
For example, Thonk in the UK sells connectors like that ( Thonkiconn – 3.5mm Jack Sockets – Thonk – DIY Synthesizer Kits & Components ). You can probably check Digikey.com or Mouser.com and find them as well (both USA vendors). Farnell Electronics in Europe also. Thonk tends to sell to DIY’ers. The other companies sell to pros, so more types of parts, models and manufacturers, but anyone can buy from all these sites.
You will have to measure the dimensions and pin spacing of the existing connector to compare and make sure you buy the right part. There may be several that look the same but have slightly different dimensions.
Amazon and eBay are good too, but the sources above will more likely provide complete dimensions and specs to make sure you get the right part.
